Kitty Donohoe, Pooh Stevenson, Wanda Degen and Tahmineh Gueramy The Troublesome Lasses are four mid-Michigan women who sing, play a collection of instruments, and have entertained enthusiastic audiences since their first performance in the summer of 1999. They are all well-established musicians and combine their talents to perform a lively mix of mostly Celtic songs & tunes, moving easily from a traditional reel to a contemporary love song or on to the rousing anthem "Wild Women Don't Get the Blues". They are comfortable with audiences of all ages and can present a wonderfully fun, interactive concert for children and families. The group consists of autoharp and dulcimer player Wanda Degen (longtime soloist and once of the trio Lady of the Lake); songwriter Kitty Donohoe (nationally known as a solo performer and of the band Pub Domain) on guitar, bouzouki and keyboards; fiddler Tahmineh Gueramy (also of Pub Domain and The Weepers); and cellist and mandolin player Pooh Stevenson (most recently of The Dennis Cyporyn Band and Lonesome and Blue, also formerly of Lady of the Lake). The Troublesome Lasses create music that's spirited and sweet, rich and just right. Highlights of performances in 2000 include Spirit of the Woods Festival (Brethren), Live at Ann Street Plaza (East Lansing), East Lansing Art Festival, FestEve (MSU), the Montague Bandshell and K'zoo Folklife (Kalamazoo). 2001 appearances include Grand River Folk Arts (Grand Rapids), Children's Concert Series (East Lansing) and The Ark (Ann Arbor).
