DULCIMERS & DINOSAURS

Folk musician Wanda Degen combines her favorite songs for children about dinosaurs with her passion for playing the dulcimer to present a program that is both informative and entertaining. A brief history and demonstration of the mountain (or fretted) dulcimer, the hammered (or original) dulcimer and the autoharp (or chorded zither) is interspersed with songs that help answer these questions:

  • What is a habitat?
  • What might happen if you brought a real dinosaur to school?
  • Would you like to be a dinosaur?

This interactive concert features sing-alongs, a stomp-along, a fingerplay, a mystery bag with a puppet inside and a Limbersaur - a wooden, dancing dinosaur rhythm instrument!

"Dulcimers and Dinosaurs" is best suited for young audiences - preschool thru 3rd grade. The program can be 30 minutes or 45 minutes in length.
